Green Building

The Bottom Line: Netting Green

Making our products with the environment, our employees, and our communities in mind has made LP the company it is today. But our practices and products also pay off for the builders who work with them and the homeowners who live with them.

Building Success

Builders who use our products benefit in many ways. Working with engineered wood that is a renewable, less resource-intensive material may result in time- and cost-savings and more marketable homes.

It’s estimated that environmentally-focused construction has increased 30 percent in just the past year, with a full 90 percent of homebuilders involved in some level of green building activities. While most cite rising energy costs, consumer demand, and superior product performance as motivation, there’s also a financial incentive. Various local, state, and Federal agencies offer financial incentives to builders who meet green building and energy efficiency certification requirements.

Bringing Green Home

Homeowners also net the benefits of LP products at home: they can enjoy the comfort and satisfaction of knowing they have contributed to a better environment for themselves and their families.

Green Building Rewards

Green Rewards

An NAHB survey shows that consumers choose a green home to net energy savings (64 percent), to address health issues (55 percent) and to help safeguard the environment (49 percent).
