LP® Moulding Room Estimator
First, you need to determine where LP Moulding is going to be used
and then estimate the quantity of each type you'll need. Go around
the room, making a list of the specific lengths you'll need,
rounding up to the nearest foot for trimming.
For example, a wall measuring seven feet, three inches should be
written as eight feet and a wall measuring ten feet should be written
as eleven feet. When all the measurements are totaled, add ten
percent to that number for cutting and waste. Divide your measurement
total by the length of the moulding you will be installing (seven to
eight feet length is standard) to determine the number of lengths
needed.
Example:
Wall A = 13' 5" so write 14'
Wall B = 12' so write 13'
Wall C = 6'8" so write 7'
Wall D = 7'1" so write 8'
Total = 42'
Add 10% = 47' (total feet needed)
If your moulding came in 8' lengths, then 47' / 8' = 5.88 pieces needed.
Round this up to 6 pieces. This is the number of 8' pieces of your
favorite profile and color of LP Moulding you need to purchase.
Be sure to round your measurements up to the next foot (ie: 7'6" = 8').
You don't need to include the 10%, our calculator will do that for you.
