LP Increases Production of LP Legacy® Premium Sub-Floor with Addition of Hanceville, Ala., Mill
LP Building Products has added manufacturing capabilities for its new LP Legacy® premium engineered sub-floor to its mill in Hanceville, Ala. The increased capacity will help LP meet increasing demand for LP Legacy while expanding market availability and supply efficiencies into Texas and other regions west of the Mississippi.
To manufacture LP Legacy in Hanceville, which also produces LP® TechShield® radiant barrier sheathing, TopNotch® 250 and 350 sub-flooring, and other sheathing and industrial panels, the company had to make significant investments in its equipment there. These include upgrades to its resin application process to accommodate Gorilla Glue Technology® and higher-quality printing capabilities as part of its alliance and branding with Gorilla Glue. The printing enhancements also allow for the addition of fastener marks onto Legacy panels, providing for easy, accurate installation.
Washington-Based Remodeler and Homebuilder Updates His Own Home Using LP® SmartSide® Trim & Siding
LP Building Products, a leader in high-performance building solutions, recently added a new case study to its online product literature portfolio. The case study spotlights Mike Schwartz, owner of Mike Schwartz Construction, who recently used LP® SmartSide® Trim & Siding on his own home, where he personally installed the product on a single-story 3,250 sq. ft. remodel in Puyallup, Washington.
For more than three decades, residents in Washington’s Pierce County have trusted Mike Schwartz Construction for their additions, remodels and custom home projects. In May 2016, Schwartz bought a 3,250 sq. ft. single-story ranch style house to remodel and reside in. For the exterior remodel, he chose to use LP SmartSide Trim & Siding prefinished with ColorStrand™ by Northwest Factory Finishes to ensure easy installation and long-lasting quality.
Riding Out the Weather: Mountain Bikers Put LP Legacy® Sub-Flooring to the Extreme Test
Under the cover of heavy rain, two professional mountain bikers, a team of videographers, and LP product experts trekked through a muddy British Columbia rainforest for a unique new adventure: putting LP Legacy® premium sub-flooring to Mother Nature’s—and extreme sports’—ultimate test. Pro athletes Ollie Jones and Kevin Landry built ramps using LP Legacy panels, then showed no mercy as they rode, jumped, and pounded through a torrential storm to showcase the strength and moisture resistance of LP’s premium sub-flooring.
The expedition was the second in LP’s Tested Extreme campaign, designed to differentiate LP Legacy sub-flooring and showcase its premium performance in a unique way. In the first test, panels were sent over a 70-foot waterfall and left to soak in the wake overnight.
