Previously, we talked about considering neighboring homes and your own personal preferences when choosing colors for your home. However, just because you like certain colors doesn’t mean they belong on the exterior of a home. Paint color trends shift over time like interior décor and fashion, just not as quickly. Specific colors and color combinations can either make your home look fresh and updated, or tired and oh-so-yesterday. I’ve teamed up with LP® Building Products to create an on-trend color collection for LP SmartSide® trim and siding products that work together with the latest in exterior stone and roofing materials, while bringing you timeless selections that will keep you happy for many years to come.
Some of things you will see in this collection include warm gray and greige neutrals, dark rich accent colors, and an updated variety of beautifully muted colors that are well-suited for exterior applications. What you won’t see: fleshy beiges of the last several decades or dated color combinations that have dominated the exterior color market for years. Today we are presenting the 34 colors that will make up the 20 new exterior color palettes for LP SmartSide trim and siding! Soon we’ll explain the system behind the choices, and how to coordinate them like a pro.
These are the individual colors in our new LP SmartSide collection. There were also 20 new exterior color combinations that we revealed in January at the International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas! In upcoming blog posts, I’ll be showing you exactly how to use the LP SmartSide color palettes with different roofing, brick and stone options. You’ll learn which colors work or don’t work with different fixed elements of the home’s exterior, as well as how different color placement can dramatically change the overall personality of your home. Stay tuned!
