Builder Spotlight - HARDAWAY Construction Corp.

Since its founding in 1924, HARDAWAY Construction Corp. has been steeped in values of faith, family and giving. Its core values and commitment to excellence are at the root of the company’s success and its continued growth.

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, HARDAWAY has spent 86 years serving as a leading general contractor with a reputation for quality and excellence that has spread across the entire Southeastern United States, giving the company a deserved reputation as a leader in the industry.

Their commitment to giving back manifested itself recently when, in less than a week, they rebuilt Lighthouse Christian School, a preschool that was destroyed in Nashville’s recent floods. With the assistance of thousands of volunteers, the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project was completed despite the tight timeline.

As a general contractor, they work on a variety of projects ranging from multi-family and churches to libraries and educational facilities to just about everything in between. However, it is a specialty that makes them stand out.

According to Bryan Hay, director of business development for HARDAWAY, it is their expertise in wood frames that makes the company stand alone. Commercial contractors of their size typically have limited experience in wood frame construction.“We have a history of building assisted living facilities and apartments,” Hay said. “So we have a group at HARDAWAY dedicated to wood frame construction.” He said most commercial facilities are built with load-bearing masonry or architectural steel or concrete frames.

The focus on wood frames is a natural fit for HARDAWAY to work with LP Building Products, and the recent work at Lighthouse Christian School gave the construction company its first exposure to LP® SmartSide® Siding, which Hay said was easy to install and was a very nice looking product.

Rest assured, HARDAWAY’s commitment to excellence will continue, keeping them in a position to serve their communities.
