Top Energy Efficient Products Used by Remodelers

A new report from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) breaks down the most commonly used energy efficient products by remodelers. According to the NAHB’s Q1 2014 Remodeling Market Index, almost 90 percent of remodelers surveyed said they’d used low efficiency windows on a project in the past year, the highest share of all efficient products included in the index.

Thirty-seven percent of remodelers used building materials derived from renewable resources and 36 percent used alternatives to dimensional lumber, like laminated strand lumber (LSL). Visit www.whatislsl.com to find out more about LSL and other alternatives to dimensional lumber. Also, take a look at this ‘Why Choose Wood’ infographic from LP Building Products, which explains the energy efficient process of wood manufacturing.
