LP Building Products Donates Material to St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway

LP Building Products has joined with Southeastern builder Signature Homes in the construction of the house for the Nashville, Tenn., St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 7, 2014) – LP Building Products has joined with Southeastern builder Signature Homes in the construction of the house for the Nashville, Tenn., St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. The manufacturer donated LP® TopNotch® 350 Sub-Flooring and LP® TechShield® Radiant Barrier Sheathing for the home.

“We broke ground on the Nashville home in December of last year, and construction is well underway. With these committed sub-flooring and roof sheathing materials, we’re one step closer to a completed home,” said Kris Keown, Nashville division manager for Signature Homes. “The St. Jude Dream Home house will open to the public in May of this year and the winner will be drawn in June.”

The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is one of the largest single-event fundraisers for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and, to date, has raised more than $270 million to support the hospital’s lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving the lives of kids battling cancer and other deadly diseases. This year, only 15,000 tickets will be available for the Nashville St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Those who reserve a $100 ticket will not only be in the drawing for the St. Jude Dream Home house, but also several other prizes all valued at a minimum of $1,000.

“At LP, we’re in the business of providing products to build homes where families can live out their dreams,” said Wiggs Thompson, market development manager at LP. “We’re honored to join together with Signature Homes to help make the Nashville Dream Home a reality.”

LP TechShield Sheathing can block up to 97 percent of radiant heat in the roof sheathing from entering an attic, which may help reduce attic temperature by as much as 30 degrees. LP TopNotch 350 series sub-flooring panels are specially engineered to fit together with ease with a self-spacing tongue and groove system, which reduces installation time. This self-spacing profile, along with a fully sanded surface, helps ensure that the floor is level from panel to panel. The OSB manufacturing process creates strength and uniform density throughout the product. This helps to provide a stable, solid sub-flooring with lasting durability.
