Key Takeaways from AIA Convention 2016
This past week, we were at the 2016 AIA Convention in Philadelphia. Our booth, located in the Wood Pavilion of the AIA Expo, showcased many of our products that offer added value advantages for architects, such as LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing.
The convention was buzzing with exciting exhibitors, tours, and seminars and the Wood Pavilion was certainly a popular area of the expo. If you weren’t able to make it to the AIA Convention or expo this year, we’ve shared a few of the key takeaways worth noting:
- Type III Construction - The rise in popularity of Type III construction was very prevalent. Many architects that don’t traditionally build with wood-framed construction stopped by our booth to better understand our assembly options.
- Evolving Fire Codes - Ever-evolving fire codes are keeping architects on their toes. Architects are seeking out products that meet code while also being good stewards of their client’s funds.
- Tailoring to Millennials - The keynote address at the convention was definitely tailored towards the millennial audience. Keynote topics included impactful social media campaigns and the relaunch of AIA’s website to accommodate new technology interfaces.
With so many innovative ideas and projects presented at the AIA convention this year, it’s clear that this is an exciting time for the architectural industry. Here at LP we are committed to providing innovative products that help architects easily create their greatest work.
