LP Serves Up Meals, Donates Product for Louisiana Flood Victims

In the wake of the devastating floods that hit Louisiana in August, many folks are now hard at work repairing and rebuilding their homes.

In an effort to help this community in need, LP recently teamed up with Zachary Lumber and Hardware to feed hundreds of displaced homeowners in Zachary, Louisiana. Meals were prepared and served outside of the hardware store where many local residents were stopping by to purchase supplies for their home repairs. The LP team was also able to feed the Zachary Police Department as they were helping homeowners continue with cleanup efforts.

Michael Murphy, LP’s Territory Sales Manager, traveled from San Antonio with his grill to help prepare meals for the Zachary residents. “It was a very humbling and rewarding experience,” Murphy said. “Even after all that these people have experienced, we had people trying to give us money for food donations. It was truly heart touching.”

LP has also donated building materials to a few local organizations. With the assistance of Abita Lumber, one unit of 8" OC panel was donated to the Church of Christ in Robert, Louisiana. They will use it in place of drywall on the interiorinside of the church. Another unit of 8" OC panel has beenwas donated to St. Alphonse Catholic School, where they will use the panels to sheath the interior of their teachers' lounge and break room.

LP is currently working on additional outreach projects to help rebuild this community. Thank you to Zachary Lumber, Abita Lumber, as well as BlueLinx of News Orleans, who have been great partners in providing support for the Louisiana rebuilding efforts.
