Fleming Homes Uses LP® FlameBlock® Sheathing in Active Adult Townhome Community

Fleming Homes is a home building business specializing in new construction with operations in Raleigh, North Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee. Their team of professionals shares a common passion for quality, integrity, creative foresight, and dedication to their homeowners. 

In July 2017, Fleming Homes started work on The Tapestry, a 99-unit townhome project designed for active adults, located in Garner, North Carolina. For the partition walls separating the townhome units, they used LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing in a UL Design No. 350 Type B assembly for a 2-hour partition wall that is fire rated on both sides.

For a townhome project, Bransom Homes recently used LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing in a UL Design No. U350 (Type A) assembly for a 2-hour partition wall that is fire-rated on both sides. They also used LP FlameBlock sheathing in a roof deck application.

Lantz-Boggio Architects is a Denver-based national architecture and design firm recognized for outstanding and unparalleled design solutions in senior living and care communities, educational environments, and governmental and commercial facilities. 

Lantz-Boggio Architects recently designed The Legacy Village at Castle Pines, a 176-unit continuing care senior living campus on a seven-acre property in Castle Pines, Colorado. The Legacy Village at Castle Pines will include 66 independent living, 79 assisted living, and 31 memory care resident units. Lantz-Boggio Architects used LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing as a code-compliant component of both 1-hour and 2-hour UL-listed fire-rated wall assemblies. 


Habitat for Humanity Cuts Down on Construction Time with LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing

In March 2015, Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County broke ground on Walnut Ridge in Wilmington, Delaware. Walnut Ridge would consist of nine units in total, including a four-pack and a five-pack of single-family attached townhomes. LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing was used on all nine townhomes as a code-compliant component of a U350 2-hour partition wall assembly. 


Type III-B Application of LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing Provides Cost-Saving Solution for Denver Framing Company

Denver-based RT Framing is a framing and drywall company specializing in multifamily and commercial construction projects. In July 2015, Russell Beilby, Vice President at RT Framing, began work on Belleview Block B, a multifamily project in the Belleview Station neighborhood in Denver.

In order to meet local fire codes, Beilby used LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing as a code-compliant component of a two-hour fire-rated exterior wall assembly throughout the 330-unit Type III-B building. He found the product provided a cost-saving solution, as he was able to save on labor costs and equipment rentals by only using one layer of LP FlameBlock sheathing compared to two layers of gypsum.

Array of products donated to School of Imagination & Happy Talkers help ensure new school is built to last

When the School of Imagination & Happy Talkers needed a new home, former Dublin, Calif., Mayor Janet Lockhart came to Discovery Homes for help. Discovery donated land for the project, but before they could begin construction they needed building materials they knew they could trust. Because of their years of positive experience building with LP products, Discovery Homes approached LP to donate products for the school. Completed in 2011, the School of Imagination & Happy Talkers now has a permanent home. 


Mixed-Use Application of LP FlameBlock Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing

In building The Varsity at College Park, a complex of student dormitories, retail establishments and parking, Grimm + Parker Architects sought to speed construction and exceed required building codes in order to provide a safe place for students to live and shop. Two-sided LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing was used to achieve a two-hour exterior fire wall. This approach was cost effective when compared to the time and labor needed to apply two layers of gypsum sheathing. In constructing a bar and grill addition to the Cottonwood Municipal Liquor Store, Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing enabled the contractor to complete the job quickly, while also providing a safe and durable alternative to gypsum board. By utilizing Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing on pre-assembled construction panels, fire code compliance can be built into panels.
