Easy Installation
Panels can be cut and drilled the same as regular OSB and installed in a vertical or horizontal orientation, provided that all panel edges are supported and fastened to wall framing or blocking. LP NovaCore is only to be used as wall sheathing and as specified in our installation instructions.

How It's Made
To create NovaCore® Thermal Insulated Sheathing, a 7/16-inch OSB panel is combined with a 1-inch Owens Corning Foamular® NGX™ XPS Foam board designed for thermal efficiency. Owens Corning foam doesn’t absorb water, offering a long term R-value that stays reliable at R-5 per inch and increases with cooler temperatures without concern of degradation. XPS foam combined with OSB sheathing creates durable NovaCore panels designed for use as wall sheathing.
BEHIND THE THERMAL INSULATED SHEATHING
By using FOAMULAR® NGX™ XPS, the R-value of LP NovaCore® Thermal Insulated Sheathing increases as temperatures drop while other polyiso foam products can see a decrease in their R-value as temperatures drop. With LP NovaCore sheathing, builders in some climate zones can use 2x4 studs while still meeting strict energy codes. Plus, it can be used to meet energy codes anywhere a climate zone allows an R-value of 13+5 or 20+5.
