Siding Visualizer Tool Basics

Designed to help you envision a new look for your home’s exterior, the LP SmartSide Home Visualizer features popular siding colors, including 16 LP SmartSide prefinished siding colors, as well as many widths, textures and engineered wood siding styles. 

When you start a project with the Home Visualizer tool, first decide whether you want to explore using a photo of your own home or a sample home (you can choose a home that mirrors your home’s style). You may also enlist a designer to help prepare your home’s image for customization for a small fee. 

How to Apply Siding and Trim Colors and Styles 

Once you are ready to begin with a home image, you may choose to take a tour of the visualizer tool. However, the visualizer is easy to use and follows a simple pattern. Here’s how to start.

  1. Choose a surface for a new type of cladding.
  2. Choose the type of cladding you would like to use on that section of the home.
  3. Choose a style of cladding.
  4. Choose the color of cladding. If you’ve chosen LP® SmartSide® siding, you can select one of 16 versatile LP SmartSide ExpertFinish® prefinished colors.

 Once the process is complete, the image will update to reflect your choices. From there, you may move on to trim, fascia, roofing, doors and more, following the same basic method of choosing a new look. You may also go back and update any of your previously customized surfaces.

Tips and Tricks for Home Siding Ideas

Don’t forget the accents for your home’s exterior that can make a big difference. It may be more exciting to change up your home’s siding, but adjusting trim color can also change the look entirely. It may open up even more inspiration! Be sure to look for trending exterior house colors for more ideas. 

Beyond siding, make sure your home’s roof and front door in the visualizer match what you currently have. Some colors will look significantly different against a gray roof or a bright front door, for example.
