Installation Instructions

LP® TechShield® installs like conventional roof sheathing, requiring no additional labor.

Install Your Line of Defense Against Heat and Higher Bills

Join builder pros Jordan Smith and Kyle Stumpenhorst as they show how easy it is to install LP TechShield® Radiant Barrier.

Step By Step

Step One
Install Foil Side Down

Place the skid-resistant side up with the APA trademark stamp side—the foil side—facing down against the structural supports.

Step Two
Positioning the Panels

Install with the long, strength axis dimension of the panel across supports, with the panel continuous over two or more spans. Stagger the end joints in each succeeding row.

Step Three
Nailing Techniques

Nail six inches on center along support panel ends and edges and twelve inches on center at intermediate supports.
