LP Building Solutions continues to grow its engineered wood fencing innovations
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 3, 2020) – LP Building Solutions, the leader in high-performance building solutions, has expanded its performance fencing offerings by introducing 8´ pickets and a color matched wood rail system. In addition to these two new products, LP Elements® Performance Fencing will be demonstrating an innovative metal system at 2020 FenceTech in Salt Lake City. LP Elements fencing, one of the biggest innovations in the wood fencing industry in over 25 years, launched in 2019 and continues to push forward the privacy fence field with subsequent system extensions.
“We continue to understand more from the fence industry what their problems and challenges are. Based on this education, we are excited to be able to offer more innovative solutions in our performance fencing portfolio that help meet the needs of the industry,” said Kevin Line, innovation manager, new production development at LP. “The introduction of a wood rail system and 8´ pickets have strengthened the LP Elements system and allow customers to have the flexibility to choose the right fencing products for their unique needs.”
LP Elements 8´ Pickets
LP first introduced LP Elements Performance Fencing in March 2019 as a 6´ picket. Now available in an 8´ height, LP Elements fencing gives customers more flexibility in their options. The 8´ pickets provide the same superior quality that LP Elements 6´ pickets offer, including the ability to withstand hail and impacts, high velocity winds up to 200 mph, humid temperatures and more. Each picket is protected to the core with LP’s proprietary zinc borate–based process to resist against termites.
“We realized that many of our customers were looking for a higher fence option, particularly those with code requirements for enclosures such as utilities,” said Louie Escobedo, business development analyst for LP Elements Performance Fencing. “The introduction of 8´ pickets allows customers to customize their fence to the height they need.”
LP Elements Color Matched Wood Rails
LP Elements color matched wood rails are created from treated kiln-dried wood and painted to match custom LP Elements pickets for absolute consistency.
“Our wood rails are treated to resist rot and decay and come with a warranty that is unmatched in the industry,” said Line. “They also come primed and painted, making installation easier.”
Available in seven natural color options, LP Elements wood rails perfectly match LP Elements 6´ and 8´ pickets for total color consistency.
LP Elements Metal System
Continuing a trend of innovation, LP Elements Performance Fencing will be demonstrating a new metal system to booth visitors at FenceTech in Salt Lake City this March.
The LP Elements metal system will include specialized nails and rails designed to deliver the strength and durability of a metal system with the installation ease of a wood system. When installed per specifications, the system can provide longer life and meet wind zone exposure C.
Traditional wood pickets are susceptible to bowing, warping, cracking, decay and rot over time. The metal system presents an innovative solution to the shorter lifespan of a traditional wood fence system. The rails are made from a light gauge sheet metal that is corrosion resistant and are powder coated for additional protection and color, providing a 10-year fade and 20-year structural performance rating. The railing tubes will be available in all seven LP Elements color options, allowing installers to create a cohesive picket and rail aesthetic.
LP Elements metal nail fasteners are designed to fasten engineered wood products to metal framing members. The metal nails have a record of structural strength, long lifespan, and no corrosion issues when properly installed. The nails will work with most commercial coil nail drivers and eliminate the use of self-tapping screws that all other metal systems require. LP Elements metal nails will be available in light brown, but a color-matched option is in development.
