We recently added a new case study to our online literature portfolio that showcases the labor saving benefits of LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing. This latest installment focuses on Poole & Poole Architecture LLC (“2PA”) and its recent construction of a 250-unit multifamily structure called The Gibson in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Construction on The Gibson began in 2014, and the project is scheduled for completion in September 2016. When finished, the structure will be approximately 260,000 square feet with an onsite fitness center, cabana-style pool and residential lounge.
David Kelley, the 2PA project manager, used LP FlameBlock sheathing in the exterior of the walls as an approved component of a UL349 wall assembly.
“I would venture to say that the biggest advantage is the single layer,” said Kelley. “I have recommended FlameBlock in the past and will continue to do so.”
