Tips to Plan a Memorable Outdoor Gathering This Fall

We all know winter is just around the corner, which is a great reason to get outside and enjoy the mild autumn weather! Use these ideas to help make your backyard the perfect place for memorable fall gatherings. 

  • Hang lights. A few strings of lights or carefully-hung lanterns can be all it takes to transform a shadowy backyard into the perfect party space. As an alternative to burning lanterns, simply bundle string lights in glass jars or lanterns. The glowing light will create interest without the danger of real flames. 
  • Decorate with fall décor. Your fall festivity won’t be complete without some autumn-themed décor or seasonal plants. Haybales do double duty as decorations and convenient seating, while containers of mums are an easy way to add pops of color. 
  • Add warmth. Make an outdoor lounge spot feel cozy with extra throw blankets and pillows from inside the house. A portable outdoor firepit added on the patio is guaranteed to be a popular gathering place as guests cozy up to stay warm.
