He Shed, She Shed, Episode 1: "Baller Backyard Bars"

LP is pleased to support the FYI Television Network’s exciting new DIY design series! He Shed She Shed follows two shed owners who, with the help of hosts Luke Barr and Sarah Ferrell, engage in the ultimate male vs. female backyard shed showdown! On the April 2nd series premiere, two party-loving homeowners turned their outdoor shed building into a backyard bar.

PJ’s Swashbuckling Pirate Bar

In California, pirate-obsessed PJ wants a backyard escape where he and his friends can get rowdy without disturbing his wife’s indoor zen. On his list of must-haves for his shed are a bar, a seating arrangement, and space that can be used as a vocal booth for his job as a DJ. Using a $10,000 budget, Luke adds a mast fashioned from an old telephone pole, a huge ship-style window, sails and a secret bar. A unique fish tank porthole adds to the nautical theme, and indoor and outdoor seating gives guests plenty of room to belly up to the pirate bar for drinks.

Erin’s Tiki Bar She-Shed

Meanwhile in Austin, Texas, a mega-party hostess wants to create a tiki bar that’s built for entertaining her huge group of friends. Erin and her boyfriend, Casey, host more than 20 parties per year, and they envision a place in the backyard where guests can mingle without crowding the kitchen. Working with Erin’s $10,000 budget, Sarah adds a tiki-themed pizza oven, glass accordion doors, a surfboard bartop, and a large deck that connects the bar to the yard for easy party flow. For extra wow factor, an aquarium-like seascape is inset into the floor of the shed. Which shed on Episode 1 do you think was the winner? Watch the full episode!
